Dell 2011/12 Roadmap Reveals Windows 8 Tablet
Whoops!
Dell’s already given us quite a few sexy smartphones and tablets (the Streak, the Venue Pro?) but it’s always nice to know that the company doesn’t plan on resting on its laurels. Round Rock’s 2011/beginning of 2012 roadmap for smartphones and tablets has been leaked to Windows Phone Central and if the documents are anything to go by, we’ll be seeing a few more exciting mobile devices from Dell before the year is out.

One of the more interesting things, in our opinion, is the appearance of a tablet running Windows 8. Codenamed Perju, it’s apparently going to show up in the first quarter of 2012 and when it does, it’ll be packing a pretty large display. Windows 8 aside, Dell will also be launching two Honeycomb tablets in Q1 2012, dubbed Opus One and Silver Oak. A Windows 7 tablet, codenamed Rosemount, will arrive Q4 of this year, while the more immediate future will bring the Honeycomb-powered Gallo (sometime in April, apparently). Another Honeycomb device, the Sterling, is scheduled for Q4.
As far as phones go, its a mixed bag with both Android and Windows Phone 7 devices. You’ve got the Wrigley, due out in July, with a 1GHz processor, a 4-inch WVGA screen, and an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p. It’s also labeled as "Windows Phone 7 Next Gen," which suggests we might see a massive WP7 update before July. September will see the arrival of the Hancock, a dual-core, dual-camera Android Ice Cream device with a 4-inch display and an 8-megapixel camera capable of shooting 1080p. Also running Ice Cream is the Millennium. Available in Q4 and packing a 4.3-inch display, it’s also a dual-core device and also boasts an 8-megapixel, 1080p recording camera.
