White Galaxy S2 Hits the UK a Day Early

by - source: TechRadar

It's not the same as the other Galaxy S 2 -- it's white.

While our friends across the pond are jumping for joy at the arrival of the Galaxy S2 in any colour at all, we've had the phone for so long that we've become a bit bored of the boring, old black exterior. Earlier in the summer there was a lot of talk about a white Galaxy S2 launching in the UK and today is the day you can finally get your hands on such a device. A whole day before we expected it to be available!

"Since its launch in May the Galaxy S2 has been a huge hit with Samsung consumers," said Simon Stanford, Managing Director of Mobile at Samsung UK and Ireland. "We always want to offer a range of products that suit different people and are delighted to now be able to give consumers the choice of the UK's leading Android smartphone in black or white."

Of course, you probably don't need telling, but the only thing that's different about this device is the colour. Under the hood it's got the same dual-core 1.2Ghz CPU, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass display, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of flash storage (up to 32GB via MicroSD), 8-megapixel camera capable of recording full HD, 2-megapixel front-facing affair for video chat, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, WiFi, and NFC support.

If the white model has NFC support then that's one different feature because the original black S II release in the UK didn't include the chip.
