Sony announce details of Warhawk update
Culver City (CA) - Warhawk’s first expansion pack, Operation Omega Dawn, will be available as an online download next month.
Sony today announced details of the upgrade to the flight combat game, which was released this summer. Operation Omega Dawn will give players access to an entirely new world and a new aircraft.
The KT-424 Combat Dropship can have on board one pilot, one ground vehicle, and six soldiers, and comes packed with a new weapon called the MBEC-3 Heavy Support Cannon.
Also added will be the Omega Factory battlefield, which contains five new map layouts. The update is noteworthy because Warhawk is the PS3’s biggest push to online gaming so far.
Warhawk was the first PS3 game to be available in both a Blu-ray Disc form and as a digital download from the Playstation Store. The ambitious title requires an online connection.
The Omega Dawn expansion will be put up for download some time next month.
