Fly on the Fence News from Channel 11
A Pennsylvania news station packed up their cameras and went out into the sun for Wednesday’s midday broadcast.
The news was shot in front of a chain-link fence where an on-air reporter read the news from a script rather than the usual Teleprompter.
It seems the mapless, chartless weather reports and scripted news was due to a computer glitch that the station only became aware of half an hour before the show was due to be aired. Apparently the monthly Windows update wasn’t installed in time and so they were forced to broadcast outdoors.
Although the station manager did say that the crash was caused because the Windows update wasn’t installed in time and the all important “it could happen to anyone,” his failure to mention how this kind of slip up could cause the system to crash leaves us all a bit bewildered.
Along with alleged report of the camera being focused on Bob Bruce while Tracey Pittman (whoever they are when they’re at home) tried to do the traffic news, anchors holding conversations with themselves for a reported 10 seconds before being notified they were on air and another anchor reading stories that don’t match the graphic over her shoulder some say it’s a wonder they still have viewers. But why wouldn’t they ? We’d tune in to see that. Cheer ourselves up.
