IFA 2007: Hyundai unveils Vvuon E465D Full-HD TV-Set
A formidable appearance : Hyundai unveils a 117cm wide-screen LCD TV at the IFA.
For most, the name Hyundai is not necessarily associated with home entertainment products. Nonetheless, the South Korean company is among the giants in the industry – and plans to grab a piece of the booming HD market with the Vvuon E456.
Its active-matrix display supplies the HDTV resolution of 1920x1280 pixels. This will also allow it to display HD-DVD or Blu-ray videos from a stand-alone player at native resolutions.
The unit comprises both a conventional analog receiver as well as a DVB-T tuner – after all, there was certainly more than enough space in the device. According to Hyundai, the brightness is rated at 500 cd/m2, with a contrast of 1,200:1.
These are very impressive technical specifications. However, only reviews will show how well the unit actually performs in day-to-day home-theater life.
There is no concrete information about the final price yet. However, Samsung’s comparable LE-46M86BD costs around € 2,000.
