Vodafone Releases Desire HD Gingerbread Update
I love the smell of gingerbread in the afternoon.
Sure, Nexus users might now be getting a whiff of some slightly fresher gingerbread in the form of Android 2.3.4, but an awful lot of people are still waiting to update from Froyo. After all, not everyone can have a Google phone and get the updates as soon as they’re made available -- some users are stuck waiting on manufactures and carriers.
That said, Vodafone has wasted no time in getting the 2.3 update out to HTC Desire HD users. TechRadar reports that the carrier is already rolling out the update; users should see an automatic notification that the new software version is now available for download.
Vodafone last month rolled out Gingerbread to Galaxy S users only to pull it a day later because of an ‘issue’ with the update. At the time, the company said it had found no issues with the Vodafone variant of the update but that it was working with Samsung to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, the Galaxy S gingerbread thread hasn’t been updated since Vodafone stopped rolling it out, so we still have no idea when the roll-out will reccommence.
