The Toys for Big Boys trade show was, as you know (if you read the show report), full of all kinds of nice things that none of us can afford. One of these things was Visual-glue’s 103” full HD Plasma TV. The screen has a full 1080P resolution using 68 billion screen colours to give a picture with zero distortion

Visual-Glue Screen

If you think it sounds impressive, you’d be right. On paper the screen looks great and the real thing, looks even better.

Visual-Glue launched the screen in Ireland last month on October 15th and ever since, it’s been the talk of the town with one being installed just over a week after it was launched, in Charlestown Shopping Centre in Dublin.

The screen in Charlestown is interactive, which means, naturally it attracts a lot of attention. The Panasonic display is combined with a body tracking camera, which senses body movement and the individual can interact with the content on the screen. This uses Gestertek technology and Stratagem content to give shoppers a real interactive showcase, be it causing ripples in a lake when you walk past or disturbing a corn field on your way to the carpark.

Visual glue is all about using and combining the latest technologies and enhancing the effect of media content for the consumer market The company also use the same technology with Sanyo highend 12000 lumen projectors, projecting a picture on the floor from 7m above, allowing people to kick a virtual ball around or splash in some virtual puddles.

A slightly smaller screen on display at the show was a weatherproof screen aimed at hotels and pubs for smoking areas. Typically, places that like to show sports out of doors, try putting their tellys in perspex boxes. It seems like a great idea until you hear two words, greenhouse effect. The weatherproof screen can survive wind and rain without added protection. The screen is also transreflective so that even if the sun is shining, the picture will still look great.

Although a lot of Visual-Glue’s products retail business to business, they have thought of the little people with the an underwater camcorder at a very affordable 425 and a HD camcorder with a nice enough price-tag of 820.
