Virgin Media Release an Android App for TiVoers
Never miss Game of Thrones again!
Back in the day, we were happy enough to be able to hit record on the VCR and nip out to the cinema or a friend's wedding without having to miss Deep Space Nine. Now, even that seems inconvenient. For those that routinely forget about their favourite shows until they're actually at the cinema or the aforementioned wedding, Virgin Media has released a new TiVo application for Android devices dubbed 'Virgin Media TV Guide.' The new app will allow Virgin Media TiVo users to remotely record their programs.
Recording shows remotely is just one of the features the app allows; users also get full TV listings for the week and the ability to create lists of favourite channels. TechRadar reports that an iPhone app is on the way (Virgin has already released an iPad app), and quotes Alex Green, executive director of commercial TV and online at Virgin Media, who claims the app will enhance the already wonderful TiVo experience:
"We think Virgin Media's TiVo Service is the best way to watch TV and our new mobile app enhances that experience by ensuring you'll never miss recording a programme whilst out and about. Our TiVo service already offers the most flexible and comprehensive recording options and features, which this new service complements."
