The US Department of Justice has endorsed the controversial European legislation meant to control cybercrime. The measures of the proposal have been criticized by European privacy, civil liberties, and human rights activists. The Justice Department's Web site reports that bulk of the 41-nation Council of Europe's draft convention ``are consistent with the existing framework of U.S. law and procedure."
