Tech news items seem to get scarcer as it gets closer to the holidays, which is weird to those of us who hope that Santa puts shiny new processors and motherboards under our tree. Apparently, AMD (with the release of its 760 MPX chipset) ASUS (with its A7M266-D), and Tyan know what we tech heads put on our holiday wish lists. Tyan's dual-processor DDR-based platform for the AMD Athlon MP processor is called the Tiger MPX and uses the just announced AMD-760 MPX chipset. The Tiger MPX features a variety of expansion slots including AGP, 32-bit PCI, and 66MHz 64-bit PCI. It also supports up to 3GB of high-speed DDR memory, and features an optional integrated 3Com 10/100BaseT LAN port. The feature list for the ATX board includes dual PGA462 sockets that support up to two AMD Athlon MP processors, a 266/200MHz system bus, four DDR DIMM sockets that support 3GB of PC2100/1600 Registered DDR RAM (including ECC), two 66MHz 64-bit PCI and four 33MHz 32-bit PCI expansion slots, and one AGP slot that supports 2x and 4x AGP graphics modes. Ho-ho-ho.
