TwonkyMedia: Navigation Trees
Here, the user can create his or her personalized navigation tree, also called a node. This makes it easier to find specific albums, artists or genres. The predefined nodes can be expanded or deleted. The music tree can contain a maximum of ten nodes. However, the MP3 files need to have ID3 tags in order for this system to work. Otherwise musical files can’t be assigned to a node.
The photo album can use search terms such as Year, Album or Date. Of course you can also define your own keywords, such as “Ibiza”, “Sunday Brunch” or “Garden Party”. Here, the limit is set to five nodes, which is a bit on the low side in our opinion. Images and photos need tags as well, and the easiest way to create them is using an image editor such as Adobe Photoshop or a viewer such as Thumbs Plus.
The video navigation tree basically follows the same pattern as the other trees. It, too, is limited to a maximum of five nodes. Here you can add alphabetically sorted sub-groups as well, though, which makes searches easier later on.
