On2Share Pro: Sharing Media and Configuring Sources
Sources
Pressing the button Shared Media opens an interface with four menus for sources, file types, podcasts, and streaming URLs.
In the Sources menu, you can set the path to the directories that contain your audio and video files. Your AV files don’t have to be in the same directory – the interface lets you choose a number of folders. Under Share Folder , you can enter local directories or network folders for use by the media server.
If you’ve already organized your files into playlists or media libraries for Winamp or Windows Media player, you can use these in On2Share Pro as well.
Supported Audio and Video Formats:
- AVI (MS4/DivX/xVID)
- MPEG1/2
- WMV
- MP3
- WAV
File Types
In this menu you can select which file types should be made available through the uPNP server. This is a global share for all data sources and directories.
The following two menus allow you to enter links to podcasts or streaming URLs. In this case, streaming URLs are used as a synonym for Internet radio stations. You can find listings of such stations through Google by entering the query “Internet radio stations”. When you’ve found the station you want, just copy and paste the URL into the appropriate field and press Add. You’re not limited to a single station, as the list can contain several entries.
