Top ten security holes revealed

An industry trade group has published a list of the ten most common exploits used to gain access to network servers.

The System Administration, Networking and Security (SANS) Institute said the list accounts for "probably 70 percent of the attacks occurring on the Internet." Topping the list: a popular Internet service known as the Berkeley Internet Name Domain, or BIND service, believed to have vulnerabilities that affect more than half of its installations.
