Dr Who star, David Tennant, takes on The Stig
Uh oh, battle of the co-stars. Dr. Who start David Tennant is set to take the driver seat on the ever so popular motor show, Top Gear. Recently, Tennant’s former co-star, Billie Piper, guest-starred on the show, hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and that other guy no one can remember.
Part of the show that we love is the bit where they take a celebrity and put them in a “reasonable priced car” and tell them to go nuts on the racetrack. Some surprise us and some horrify us. We all remember when butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-her-mouth Billie Piper hit the track and completed it in an impressive 1 minute and 48 seconds but we can’t forget Terry Wogan’s lap time being beaten by blind Bosnian war veteran, Billy Baxter. Baxter was directed by Clarkson who was giving instructions from the passenger seat.
Tennant, (who we’ll admit is more than a little attractive [That’s ‘we’ as in the news editor. -Ed]) plays the lead role in the hit BBC series along with co-star Catherine Tate. Tate recently let the cat out of the bag during a radio interview and told Jonathon Ross that not only was she leaving the show after series four, but David would be leaving shortly as well. Oh dear, us women and our big mouths.
Anyway, for those of you interested in watching the star of what is, at times, considered to be the cheesiest show on television, the airs on Sunday night on BBC2. Then of course, there are those of us just interested in watching the Stig for anything that could help us figure out who he really is.
