IFA 2007: TomTom Go 920 T - Sending the Go 910 into Retirement
Following the introduction of the Go 720 T and GO 520 T portable navigation systems, TomTom is adding another model, the Go 920 T, to its product line. The successor to the GO 910 comes pre-installed with maps of 41 countries in Western and Central Europe as well as Canada and the US. An improvement over the GO 720 T and GO 520 T, it also features the new Enhanced Positioning Technology for more accurate positioning, especially in street canyons and tunnels.
Furthermore, using Bluetooth, the new model can be used as a hands-free set with your mobile phone, and also provides real-time traffic information through TMC Pro. The integrated FM-transmitter sends navigation directions and music in MP3 format from the integrated 4GB memory to your car stereo.
An SD-card slot, voice recognition that can interpret navigation commands, and TomTom’s Map Share technology round off the GO 920 T’s feature set. Map Share allows the user to add to the integrated maps and then share it with other TomTom users. The navigation system is expected to be available in October at a price of £420 / €599.
