With major DRAM makers transitioning capacity to DDR2, supply of DDR chips has tightened in the spot market, with recent Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation-made (PSC) effectively tested (eTT) parts being quoted at higher prices than quotes offered for the same density branded DDR chips, InSpectrum indicated.
The relatively fast rise in eTT pricing began in the middle of March and has continued through the middle of April, and a few times pricing in the eTT segment has been higher than in the branded segment.
