Tesco's delivery charges soar
Don’t shoot the messenger but Tesco’s 250,000 online shoppers are about to be hit by a staggering price increase.
The 51p rise in delivery charges during peak times, such as Saturday afternoons, means that shoppers now have to fork out £6.50 for the shopping to your doorstep service. Which makes Tesco more expensive than rivals Sainsbury’s or Asa.
Tesco’s extortionate delivery charges puts them £1.75 dearer than Asda and £1.50 more expensive than Sainsbury’s, the latter being the best value at £2.50 during off-peak times.
The company hope that the increase will help spread drivers workload over the week.
