Tamsin Little follows Radiohead's lead
Famous British violinist, Tamsin Little, is to join the ranks of artists to offer their music online. Tamsin recently announced that she will offer he latest studio recording (the first in four years) online, free of charge.
Little has said she disagrees with the supposed high-class reputation that goes along with classical music and she hopes that by offering her music for free online she will eliminate the boundaries associated with classical music.
"Classical music, for some reason or another, has this reputation that you need a certain kind of education to listen to it, you need to be a certain colour or live in a certain place and I’m a bit fed up with that. I wanted to take away any possible barrier and see if it makes a difference."
With her newest recording, The Naked Violin, Little has tried to appeal to both her newer fans while still remaining true to the old. Little also said that she hoped making her music available to anyone who has access to the internet would mean that she was more easily accessible and hopes that it will help her broaden her fanbase.
"I’m very excited and adore the idea of someone in Africa or South America downloading my music," she said.
