Gigabyte’s P35T-DQ6 overclocking stability initially impressed us in its original review back at the beginning of June. Many new rivals have since challenged its top overclocking position among previously-tested DDR3 motherboards, but wave after wave of Gigabyte marketing claims challenged us to prove the board’s worth with an equally worthy CPU.

Meanwhile, MSI was busy improving the overclocking capabilities of its P35 Platinum, a board that lost its overclocking debut in our mid-June DDR2 motherboard shootout, but came back with a championship lead in Revision 1.1.
