T-Mo Reveals Xperia Play, Desire S, Atrix Launches
T-Mobile UK has confirmed releases of some of 2011's most highly anticipated smartphones.
If you've been thinking of picking up a new phone but were waiting for the Xperia Play or the Motorola Atrix to hit the shops, then we've got some good news for you: T-Mobile has spilled the beans on the releases of the aforementioned devices, as well as detailing the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Ace and the HTC Desire S.
According to a 'Coming Soon' page on T-Mobile's website, those looking forward to the Xperia Play, aka the PlayStation phone, can pick it up next month, while the Tegra 2-powered Motorola Atrix will hit in June. Also scheduled for an April launch is the HTC Desire S. If you can't wait that long for a new phone, the Samsung Galaxy Ace and the LG Optimus Black will both be available within two weeks.
The the dual-core Atrix and the Android 2.3-powered Xperia Play have been hyped up to the hilt, but the Galaxy Ace is a little less well known. Packing an 800MHz CPU, and a 3.5-inch display, this neat little phone is definitely not as beefed up as the superphones we've been hearing so much about lately. The LG Optimus Black has a 1GHz CPU, a 4-inch display and is capable of shooting video in 720p at 30fps. The Desire S is another interesting handset; it's got a 3.7-inch display, will ship with Google's Android 2.4 version of Gingerbread (with Sense UI on top) and a 1GHz processor.
Sadly, T-Mobile provides nothing more specific than the release month for any of these devices but with just two weeks left in March, the March/April launches are practically on top of us already.
