Fake Steve Jobs Working on TV Comedy ''iCon''

by - source: Tom's Hardware US

MRC Studios has said it has assembled a team to work on a sitcom based on Steve Jobs.

Media Rights Capital this week announced that the studio, along with EPIX, has put together a team that will work on iCON, a comedy series pilot that will be developed by Larry Charles, one of the Seinfeld writers and the director of Borat and Bruno.

While Charles is a very talented comedy writer, he will not be the one penning the pilot. According to MRC, founder of the Fake Steve Jobs blog Dan Lyons will write the episode, with direction from Larry.

MRC says the show’s lead character, Tom Rhodes, is a composite of Jobs and other Silicon Valley titans. The comedy is described as a savage satire, a study of ego, power and greed.

“We are attempting to do nothing less than a modern Citizen Kane,” Charles said. “A scabrous satire of Silicon Valley and its most famous citizen. We needed a bold environment to nurture such a vision. One that was free of pre-conceived ideas. And EPIX made it clear they were that place. They asked us to make their home our home. And we have.”

"Hello, IT. Have you tried switching it on and off again?"

Yeah... whatever did happen to the Christmas 2009 special? If it was on, I obviously missed it.
