Spike TV Video Game Awards 2007: Results
Underwater action-adventure game, Bioshock, was certainly at the forefront of this year’s Spike TV Video Game Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The title was up nominated for seven awards in total, including Best original score, best soundtrack, best pc game, best Xbox 360 game, best graphics, best shooter and Video game of the year.
Of these seven nominations, Bioshock bagged three awards including the prestigious Game of the Year award. The title beat Mass Effect, The Orange Box and Microsoft’s Best Multiplayer Game and Most Addictive Game fuelled by Dew winner, Halo 3, to take home the trophy.
As for the other awards the game was nominated for, Best Shooter went to Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare. As for Orange Box, all was not lost for the game against Bioshock as it managed to beat the Game of the Year to the Best PC Game, Crysis took home the award for Best Graphics while Best Soundtrack went to Harmonix’ Rock Band along with the award for Best Rhythm Game. The cherry on the cake for Harmonix was beating Bungie Studios, Irrational Games and Valve in the battle for Best Studio.
