Sparkle announces overclocked G80 graphics cards
Taipei (Taiwan) – Sparkle has announced two new high-end graphics cards
The firm’s new Calibre P889 series replace the previous P880 series and use Nvidia’s Geforce 8800 reference design. The P889+ is based on the 8800 GTX and comes with a core clock of 630 MHz and a memory clock of 1960 MHz, compared to the standard 575 MHz core and 1800 MHz memory. The shader clock is also up from 1350 MHz to 1512 MHz.
The P889 Ultra, based on the 8800 Ultra, has a core clock of 650 MHz, a memory clock of 2250 MHz and a shader clock of 1674 MHz, compared to the 612 MHz/2160 MHz/1500 MHz of the reference platform. Sparkle claims that the P889 Ultra is good for a 3Dmark06 score of 12209 points. The P889+ is estimated at a score of 11294.
