Critics call for Spanish TV show to be cancelled after botched on-air proposal
A Spanish television station faces axing one it’s more popular chatshows following an on-air proposal, which was followed by the murder of the 30 year old woman to whom the proposal had been made.
A guest on the show proposed to his girlfriend on air and no sooner was the ring out of his pocket than she shot him down. Ouch.
Now, the clip is in Spanish but we didn’t have any trouble deciphering his girlfriend’s side of the conversation. Those one-word answers really get the point across . . .
Five days later the man, Ricardo, is alleged to have turned up at his ex-girlfriend’s house and slit her throat.
Apparently, the girl (Svetlana, a 30 year old Russian woman) had previously filed a two-year restraining order against Ricardo and aside from that, the man had been sentenced to 11 months in jail on the 31st October but police had failed to notify him of the ruling because they couldn’t find him.
