Sky Go Now Offering On-demand Movie Streaming

by - source: Sky

Sky's hugely popular Sky Go application now allows users the ability to stream movies.

Just a few months after it debuted, Sky is already expanding upon the services offered by its Sky Go mobile application. Launched in July as part of the rebranding of Sky Mobile and Sky Player, Sky Go is free for Sky customers (or between £15 and £40 for those without a Sky subscription) and enables users to watch TV on their phone, computer or tablet for free. This week, Sky announced that customers can now also stream movies to their mobile device via the Sky Go app.

"Today we are launching a new movies on demand service on the Sky Go app, enabling Sky Movies customers to watch their favourite films live or on demand on iPhones, iPad and iPod Touch," the company said in a statement.

"The launch of Sky Movies on demand with Sky Go will give customers complete control over how, when and where they access hundreds of movies, including new releases and classic films – all at no extra charge."

In September, Sky revealed that Sky Go had been downloaded 1.6 million times. This week, the company said the application had attracted almost two million unique users since launch, with over 30 million pieces of content viewed in the last month alone.
