A Singapore based telephone company has released a new security camera that gives people the ability to view images from the camera using their mobile phone.

The in-home surveillance camera uses a 0.3 megapixel camera and has infrared capabilities to enable it t capture more clearly defined images in dimly lit rooms or at night.

The Mobile LIVECam operates on the 3G network and is equipped with a microphone, SIM card and a 512 MB memory card for recording video-streaming images.

It also offers adjustable image brightness, on-the-fly recording and image inverting. Customers can also use the keypad on their 3G mobile as a remote control for the camera’s position. To access images from their security camera users simply dial the cameras assigned number.

The service is available to all residential customers with an existing SingTel Mobile 3G account, at a monthly subscription of S$8.56 (€4.10). Customers are required to pay a one-time equipment fee of S$353.10 (€169.48), which is also payable through an instalment plan of S$13.91 (€6.67) per month over 24 months.
