Silent Hill heads for the PS2
El Segundo (CA) - Konami announced today that it is working on porting the PSP title Silent Hill Origins to the PS2, in the first handheld-to-console transition of its kind.
Silent Hill Origins, true to its name, gives gamers a deeper look at the mystery and mythos of the intricate stories from previous installments in the franchise.
This is believed to be the first time that a portable game has been directly ported to a home console system without any changes. This is because the PSP’s technical specs are closely aligned to those of the PS2.
"Console gamers can now expect the same chilling, suspenseful and fear-filled experience that handheld gamers encountered when we released Silent Hill Origins on the PSP system," said Konami’s VP of marketing Anthony Crouts. For over a year, the PS2 has been the only console from the last generation with developers continuing to actively work on exclusive titles.
The release date has not yet been determined.
