According to antivirus organizations, an e-mail worm known as Shockwave.A or ProLin.A is spreading rapidly. The program masquerades as e-mail titled "A great Shockwave flash movie" with an attachment named "creative.exe." If opened, it will use Microsoft Outlook, if available, to send copies of itself to everybody in the address book. The program is relatively benign, reportedly chaning only some file name extensions, but could threaten mail servers. The writer designed the worm, however, to encourage victims to switch to Linux. It is signed "The Penguin."
