Shanghai Hua Hong NEC goes the foundry path

According to a China-based newspaper, Shanghai Hua Hong NEC Electronics will begin taking local and overseas contract-manufacturing orders this month, announced company vice president Wang Guoguang. Monthly production capacity is targeted at 30,000-40,000 8" wafers by the end of 2003. The company mainly adopts 0.24 and 0.35-micron technology, and monthly production capacity is currently at 20,000 wafers.
