Reportedly, Sega’s games will start at 800 Wii points, equivalent to $8, each. Nintendo has said its NES games will go for 500 points ($5), while SNES games will be on par with Sega’s 800 Wii point level, and Nintendo 64 titles are the most expensive of all announced games, priced at 1000 Wii points ($10). Hudson has also announced plans to release its classic line of titles at 600 points ($6) each.
According to Sega’s vice president of marketing, Scott Steinberg, the virtual console platform is going to be a main outlet for them. "This is only the beginning though, as you can expect to see more announcements regarding other legendary titles from Sega’s catalog coming to the Wii Shop Channel in the coming months," he said.
