Sandisk adds 32 GB SDHC flash cards
Las Vegas (NV) – 32 GB has become the new high-end for flash memory capacities.
Sandisk today followed on the heels of an announcement by PNY made yesterday and said that new 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB versions of its Ultra II SDHC memory cards will be shipping in March and April. The flash device are rated at read and write speeds of 15 MB/s, up from 10 MB/s (read) and 9 MB/s (write) of the preceding product generation.
The 32 GB card is capable of storing up to 8000 10 megapixel images or 40 hours of standard definition video.
Samsung said that it will be releasing the 8 GB and 16 GB models in March with prices of $100 and $180, respectively. The 32 GB is expected to debut in April and carry a $350 price tag.
