Samsung Tocco Lite 2 Headed for UK in March
Samsung's got a new Tocco handset and it's coming this way.
It seems it wasn't that long ago that Samsung's Tocco Lite (pictured) first launched in the UK. However, it appears the company is eager to keep things fresh, as it's just been confirmed that we're going to get the Tocco Lite 2 next month.
The phone is being touted as a budget-friendly social networking handset geared towards teenagers and it's got the specs to prove it. The Tocco Lite 2 packs a 3-inch QVGA TFT LCD, a 3.2-megapixel camera, 20MB of user memory (expandable to 16GB via microSD), Samsung's own OS (sorry Android lovers), Bluetooth 3.0, and WiFi. Still, if you're looking to dip your toes in the smartphone pool, then this is definitely a viable option.
"Our range of Tocco devices have been among our best selling over the past few years," said Simon Stanford, Samsung's UK and Ireland Telecommunications and Networks Division head. "Thanks to the incredible response we've had to the original Tocco Lite and Tocco Icon handsets, we're excited to now be offering our customers improved social networking and enhanced multimedia capabilities with the Tocco Lite 2.
"Our aim with this new handset is to build on the features we know our customers enjoy and find useful by providing greater synergy between their mobile handset and their social networks, and in doing so, giving them more ways to stay in touch with their friends and loved ones when they're on the move."
Samsung hasn't revealed worldwide availability just yet (nor has it released a photo of the device), but the company has confirmed that it will be arriving in the United Kingdom in March.
