Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Arrives in UK
It's here!
This day has been a long time coming, but it has finally arrived -- the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is finally available in the United Kingdom.
First unveiled at CTIA in March, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 hit the U.S. in June. Since then, UK shoppers have been patiently awaiting the UK arrival of the newest addition to the Galaxy Tab family. Six weeks ago, Samsung confirmed that we were just a month and a half away from UK availability and, while the device went on say in select PC World and Currys locations yesterday, it's now hit general availability.
"The interest we've had in the Galaxy Tab 10.1 since it was first announced at the beginning of the year has been phenomenal," said Simon Stanford, managing director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland.
"Our latest tablet device in the Galaxy range is an example of Samsung's ongoing innovation and a clear statement of intent within the tablet market. We're proud to be able to bring our slimmest, lightest and smartest tablet yet to UK consumers today."
Just in case you need reminding, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 boasts Nvidia's Tegra 2 chipset, a 10.1-inch display, Android 3.1 Honeycomb, WiFi and 3G (optional), an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a choice of either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage. Pricing is set at £399, £479 and £559, respectively. The 3G models will set you back £499 (16GB), £579 (32GB), and £659 (64GB).

No SD slot, too expensive, instant fail.
I don't deem it an instant fail. Being able to buy it in a 32GB version would suit me fine.
I'm sure there will be a tablet out there with an sd slot to suit your needs.
Don't hate it too early..
Asus transformer or the iPad 2 is better in every way. Can see no reason to buy one of these. Really is an instant fail.
Why is the iPad2 better? I also don't see how the EEE pad is better in every way either. The eee pad has flaws such as the screen being quite far away from the glass. The dock connector not working 100% and the glass being so shiny that taking it outside is mental.
I have yet to see you produce evidence to prove your "Better in every way" claim

If you cant see no reason to buy one then you should rush out and buy one.
People will buy this product as it suits them. I don't see why it should be classed as an instant fail if one person dislikes it...
the iPad2 doesn't suit me but I don't deem it an instant fail.
Each to their own, that is why we have so many choices...
I do find it funny that everyone's saying its an instant fail. Its the only tablet that is thinner (and lighter) then the Ipad and runs android. Its screen is extremely bright and colorful.
At the end of the day if you want an android tablet that's light and easy to hold in one hand but don't care for expanding the storage then the extra £50 over the Asus Transformer will seem worth it.
Also the article is wrong it does not contain an 8MP camera the old thicker version had the 8MP camera but the new thinner one contains a 3MP rear camera.
