Origin PC claims its EON17-X3D is the world's first laptop to sport two graphics cards in SLI mode.

We have another "world's first," this time it's a 3D-capable laptop sporting two Nvidia GeForce GTX 580M cards, overclocked and running in SLI mode. Called the EON17-X3D, Origin PC's new customizable laptop also comes stuffed with the latest Intel X79 chipset, 2nd generation Intel quad and hexacore processors, Nvidia 3D Vision 2 Wireless Glasses with LightBoost Technology, a built-in 3D emitter, a 17.3-inch 1080p 3D LED-backlit display and more.

"Origin PC continues to lead the industry by being the first to offer a 3D laptop with dual overclocked graphics cards in SLI." said Kevin Wasielewski Origin PC CEO and co-founder. "The Origin EON17-X3D is the ultimate mobile 3D experience. Whether you are at home or on the road, you will forget where you are and become immersed in the world of 3D."

The EON17-X3D starts at a hefty $3,032, and offers up to 32 GB of 1333 MHz Corsair quad channel memory, and up to 16 GB of 1866 MHz Corsair Vengeance quad channel memory. On the storage front, customers can cram up to three drives into the chassis, with a storage limit of 3 TB -- there's also a built-in 9-in-1 card reader for additional storage. Processor options include Intel's Core i7-3820 (3.66 GHz / 3.9 GHz), Core i7-3930K (3.2 GHz / 3.8 GHz) and Core i7-3960X Extreme (3.3 GHz / 3.9 GHz).

As for other features, the laptop offers three Nvidia GPU configurations, Blu-ray and DVD burner options, a customizable backlit keyboard with three lighting zones and seven colors, three USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, an Express Card (54/34) slot, HDMI 1.4a output, a mini IEEE 1394b port, a single-link DVI-I output port, and more. Network options include built-in Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11 a//g/n, Intel's Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 Wireless 802.11 a/g/n or Bigfoot Networks' Killer Wireless N 1103 802.11 a/g/draft-n.

To round out the package, customers can customize the chassis by mix-matching Origin's library of colors and layouts, or they can simply design their own. "We all know it's what's under the hood that counts, but this doesn't mean you have to be stuck with a bland design," Origin said. "For gamers our systems are an extension of ourselves. We want to stand out in, or out of the game. Origin understands this and we deliver by offering you several color and design options, but it doesn't stop there. Become truly original by sending in your own artwork to be airbrushed on your Origin EON17-X or give us a call and we will work with you to develop your own unique design."
