Radiohead says Comscores figures are wholly inaccurate
Radiohead has hit out at Comscore saying that the results of its recent report are wrong and that more than 2 out of 5 fans paid for the album.
Radiohead recently released their album In Rainbows for download only and offered fans to pay whatever price they deem fair for the 10 tracks. Comscore released figures which said the average download, when you factor in the amount of fans who paid nothing at all, only earned the band £2.90.
A spokesperson for Radiohead said that the figures released by Comscore are wholly inaccurate and the company had no way of finding out these figures as the album could only be downloaded from the Radiohead website.
Comscore bigwig says the study was based on data gathered by observing the transactions made by "a few hundred" downloaders and while there is a small margin of error, the company remain confident in their data.
The album is set for physical CD release on the 31 of December, in time for all the HMV vouchers people give as gifts at Christmas.
