id Software Releases New RAGE Screens
id Software release three new screenshots from its upcoming FPS game, RAGE.
Wednesday id Software released three new screenshots from its upcoming shooter RAGE, the first set to be released since May 2010. The official website has also been updated on the visual front, and even announces an actual release date for all three versions: September 13, 2011.
The new screenshots released today-- distributed by Bethesda and seen below-- reveal a crossbow in action as it takes down a mutant. Another screenshot in Wednesday's batch shows four vehicles in combat as they race against a spectacular backdrop. The third image reveals a town mayor looking as if he was pulled straight out of an old Western.
"RAGE features intense first-person shooter action, breakneck vehicle combat, an expansive world to explore and jaw-dropping graphics powered by id’s revolutionary id Tech 5 technology," reads Bethesda's promotional quote. "Set in the not-too-distant future after an asteroid impacts Earth, you emerge into a vast wasteland to discover humanity working to rebuild itself against such forces as bandit gangs, mutants, and more. From the pioneers of first-person shooter gameplay, RAGE promises an experience like no other."
RAGE is heading to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC in September 2011.
