PlayStation Move Gets the Teardown Treatment
The guts of a phone but in a controller...
So you bought Sony's latest peripheral, PlayStation Move, and you've spent the last 24 hours whooshing and waving while you get your Move on in the living room. It's been great but now you've got Move elbow and you can't play anymore. What can you do? Take it apart. Apparently it's really, really easy.
Unlike the iPod and smartphone tear downs, you won't need any special wedging tools to get Move open. As long as you're reasonably confident in your Phillips-head screwdriver abilities, you should have no problems. Getting it open aside, the iFixit team says that given the amount of tech Sony has managed to cram into the controller, $50 is actually quite good value for money:
"The Move contains many of components found in today’s smartphones: a processor, accelerometer, gyroscope, Bluetooth transmitter, vibrating motor, and even a MEMS compass. It’s an amazing amount of tech for the money, even though we still think it’s steep to pay $50 for a controller. Compared to a $40 WiiMote, though, it’s quite the bang for the buck."

There's not much in there, how much does it cost again.
and how much is iphone again?
))
You seem to be surprised for paying more for something that doesn't cost the same to manufacture - it's just life mate
just cause one company rips people off (apple) does not mean others should follow suit ...

in saying that its not only the cost of the device that has to be paid for, like all that R&D ...you have to pay their wages you know?
And to the above "apple ripoffs" are not "just life mate" ...if it was an apple product you would be doubling the cost again
rubbish
So Kinect is cheaper than Move, if you have 4 people (and costs as much for 3 people) - and this is just for the ONE Move controler - most games require the other one as well. Needless to say - kinect is also the far more impressive tech. Move is no step futher than the Wii.
