Simple Google image search turned up missing canoeist

by - source: Tom's Hardware UK

An American single mother managed to solve the mystery of the missing canoeist from the comfort of her own home.

Detectives were suspicious when John Darwin, who had been missing, presumed dead, for the last five years walked into a Westend police station claiming he didn’t remember any of the last five years. John’s wife Anne moved to Panama six weeks ago and police only grew more skeptical when they found out she had recently received a large sum of money from her husband’s life assurance.

A woman in the states thought (like the rest of us, love) that this story was a little too far fetched to be true so she Googled the couple. To her surprise she found a photograph of the couple in Panama dated July last year. The couples’ photo was posted on the website for a firm who specialise in moving to Panama. Whats worst is she didn’t even have to use their second name in the search. Searching for "John, Anne and Panama" turned up the picture of the two straight away. She then forwarded the picture to Cleveland Police and the Mirror.

Word of advise, if you’re going to fake your own death, you should probably think about changing your name. Even if it’s just your first name. . .

Unfortunately it seems to have been deleted from the archive. You'd think they'd appreciate the page impressions. . .
