Sony and Vodafone Pair up for PlayStation Vita 3G
Sony and Vodafone have struck a deal that will see the latter become the 'preferred' carrier for the next PSP, the PlayStation Vita, once it launches.
It feels like we've been talking about the PS Vita for months (because we have), however, with the release of the device drawing ever closer, information regarding pricing and availability is slowly slipping out. Available in both WiFi and 3G variations, the device is scheduled for availability in the next few months and this week, we learn that Vodafone has partnered with Sony to sell the 3G model of the handheld gaming console.
Sony announced via its European blog earlier this week that Vodafone would, at least for the time being, serve as the 'preferred' network for the PS Vita in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and with Vodafone’s partner in France, SFR. This means that 3G Vitas purchased in selected countries will ship with a Vodafone SIM card so gamers can get started immediately. Customers will also be able to buy PS Vita 3G/Wi-Fi model direct from Vodafone channels, both online and in store, and will receive a PlayStation Network voucher that will allow them to download WipEout 2048 from the PlayStation Store.
"With social gaming and connectivity at the heart of PlayStation Vita it is important that we partner with a market leading network provider, to ensure users have a high quality 3G experience," said Jim Ryan, President & CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. "Partnering with Vodafone will enable PS Vita users in the selected countries to always be connected with their PlayStation life, friends and games, wherever they are."

I want to buy the 3g model but i just can't justify getting it because i don't do much gaming on the move, is the only advantage of the 3g model the 3g or does it have other features.
