System Specs Revealed for Aliens vs Predator
Anxiously waiting for the upcoming Aliens vs. Predator reboot? Take a look at the minimum and recommended hardware requirements.
Although we haven't seen anything official come across the newswire, apparently Sega has revealed the minimum and recommended system requirements for the PC version of Aliens vs. Predator, according to fansite AVPGalaxy.net. Based on the provided requirements, the game won't need an utterly super beefy gaming rig to achieve the ideal experience.
However, gamers wanting a taste of AVP's native DirectX 11 support will need a graphics card based on ATI's Radeon HD 5670 at the least--these are priced relatively cheap for under $100. Boards based on Nvidia's upcoming DirectX 11-compatible "GF100" Fermi GPU won't be quite as cheap, but may give ATI's Radeon HD 5870 a run for it's money when it hits the market.
Nevertheless, here are the sacred specs for Rebellion's upcoming AVP reboot:
Minimum Requirements
- Windows 7/ XP/Vista
- 1 GB System RAM (XP)/ 2 GB System RAM (Vista)
- 3.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4/Athlon 64 3000+ or equivalent processor
- DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 128 MB RAM (NVIDIA 6600 or better, ATI X1600 or better)
Recommended Requirements
- Windows 7/ XP/Vista
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 or equivalent processor
- 2 GB System RAM
- DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB RAM (NVIDIA 8800 series, ATI HD2900 PRO or better)
On another note, fans of the original Aliens vs Predator (Classic) PC game, released back in 2000, can grab the digital version from Steam for a mere $4.99. Steam is also offering Universe at War: Earth Assault and three additional, exclusive AVP skins for gamers who pre-order the new installment.
Finally, there's already talk about DLC and a sequel to the not-yet-released Aliens vs. Predator PC game. Although nothing is set in stone, Rebellion co-founder Jason Kingsley said "much of that will come down to Fox and Sega." Kingsley's recent interview with CVG regarding the game and the future of the franchise can be found here.
Aliens vs. Predator is slated to hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC on February 16 in North America, and on February 19 in Europe.

Relatively humble
So if we use the traditional view that recommended is actually what you need to get a decent experience out of it while minimum will just make it work, then what you actually need to get the best from it still isn't really known (if these specs are correct that is)
Im guessing
W7/Vista
Core 2 Duo 2.4GHZ or even higher ?
HD5770
Mactronix
I wonder how well they optimized the DX11...I recall the 5xxx series lost quite a bit of steam when they benched Dirt2... perhaps those benches would improve after a few driver updates.
god damn we get it 3 days later im gonna order a copy from america i cant wait to play this game
