OEM quotes for slim-type DVD burners drop only 2-3% in Q3 07
ODM/OEM quotes for slim-type DVD burners for the third quarter of 2007 fell by 2-3% on quarter, significantly smaller than the on-quarter drops of 8-10% in the preceding four to five quarters, according to industry sources in Taiwan. While there has been tight supply of slim-type DVD burners due to booming global sales of notebook PCs, third quarter ODM/OEM quotes for such burners have not rebounded, according to HC Son, general manager for the business division of Hitachi-LG Data Storage (HLDS).
