O2 UK Releases Details of Broadband Packages
After the details of O2 UK’s upcoming broadband services and packages were leaked on the internet, the company released official details this morning.
Telefonica subsidiary O2 UK has set a target of 10 million broadband customers by 2010 and promise a UK-based customer care team for customers experiencing any problems with the broadband service. Although the launch is still eleven days away O2 UK has released the prices and specifics of the various packages available.
CEO Matthew Key told journalists that they were to launch three price plans. In a small, medium and large kind of offering users can choose from a basic package of 8 MB per second at £7.50 per month, 16 MB at £10.00 per month with the top package offering speeds of up to 20 MB per second at £15.00. However, these prices are only for existing broadband customers. Consumers who don’t have a contract with O2 can still opt to use their broadband services but at an additional charge of £10.00.
Key warns that these speeds will also depend on the customers’ location. Key says that customers will be advised on average speeds in their area based on their post codes and told if the speed they require is available.
