O2 employ 1,400 employees to deal with iPhone owners
O2 UK has announced that the launch of the iPhone means that it has had to employ 1,400 new staff to help customers cope with the technology explosion that is the iPhone.
Carphone Warehouse has already announced that its stores will remain open until 11pm on Friday to deal with customer demand for the touchscreen phone. O2 will also be helping the customers with half of these new employees in stores around the UK helping new iPhone parents to set up their email and figure out how to use the features of the phone.
The other half will be at their battle stations in the call centres where they’ll no doubt deal with all kinds of queries, which will almost definately include “how come my Vodafone SIM card won’t work in my iPhone ?”
Here at Toms, the news team eagerly awaits the day when we publish the article entitled “O2 cut nearly 1,400 jobs after iPhone craze dies down”.
