O2 Ireland offers unlimited free texts
02 IRL is jumping on the prepaid bandwagon and will offer it’s prepaying customers free unlimited free texts from the 1st of February.
Irish network provider, Meteor, was the first to offer this service way back when it first launched to try and gather a decent number of customers.
Slow to start, the service kicked off in a huge way and soon Vodafone were offering the same service in that when you topped up €20 you could avail of free texts to any other Vodafone customer.
O2 offer the unique option of free texts to any network, anytime in the form of the O2 Experience Price Plan.
Unfortunately, there’s a catch but even then it’s only a small hiccup. Anyone wishing to sign up for the price plan has to do so before the 30th of April.
Prepay customers are allowed to sign up for the service as of tomorrow and bill pay customers can also switch over to Speakeasy if they wish.
O2 UK are also on the price plan prowl.
Yesterday they announced that all customers would benefit from lower charges. Surprisingly, this includes all iPhone customers.
The basic £35 monthly contract will now offer three times the minutes and twice the texts as before. The £55 contract will be reduced to just £45 with texts and minutes remaining the same.
O2 UK will give customers the chance to upgrade to some kind of new, deluxe tariff. Priced at £75 per month, the chatterbox contract gives you 3,000 minutes and 500 texts.
All three tariffs will continue to offer unlimited data (email/web) & Wi-Fi (O2 Hotspots), Visual Voicemail and reduced roaming rates.
