Novelle Workforce Experiencing Growth Spurt

by - source: Tom's hardware UK

Software firm, Novelle, has seen it’s Dublin branch’s staff almost double since the beginning of 2007, with growth expected to continue into 2008.

The Dublin operations focuses on centralising some of the companies general services such as the HR, Finance and Telesales departments.

Director of Novelle Ireland claims that the original workforce of 105 is growing, and with new positions opening up for graduates in particular, it could amount to nearly 200 before the end of the year.

The increase in employees is largely due to the company’s increasing focus on their financial department in Ireland. Director Lorcan Murtagh told siliconrepublic.com that because of the centralisation of a number of the European-wide departments in the Sandyford facility in Dublin the company is becoming a more attractive place for graduates from these countries. With non-nationals accounting for 40 percent of employees in their finance division and 14 out of the the last 16 graduates hired.

The company centralising these departments to place is an effort to be more cost-effective.

“From a European standpoint it’s not just about cost-savings but making sure we have an appropriate amount of controls and expertise and it’s easier to do that in a consolidated environment.”
