One of the authors of the controversial Nintendo N64 emulator, UltraHLE, has decided to abandon the emulation project.

In a statement quoted in The Register, the developer, known only as 'RealityMan', said he owed his decision to threatened legal action from Nintendo, time pressures, and users only interested in using emulation software to pirate games.

RealityMan's collaborator is still at work on the project, according The Register. However, pending Nintendo legal action could force the second programmer to abandon UltraHLE, as well.

The report appears at The Register .
