MySpace signs deal to broadcast proprietary shows on television
MySpace TV is something that’s kicked off in a big way in the last couple of months and now it looks like we’re not safe from it even when the computer is off.
MySpace has just signed a deal with Shine Group (which is coincidentally run by Rupert Murdoch’s daughter) which means shows like Special Delivery (sort of like candid camera, we hear) will soon be making their way to our television screens.
Travis Katz, head of MySpace’s international arm seems to think of MySpace as a kind of demo audience.
"You can see what resonates with people and then take that content and blow it out worldwide,"
So basically anything the MySpace kids are watching, we’ll be watching. . . .Oh dear.
According to the BBC, MySpace will be developing local versions of the shows for the 26 countries the sites operate in. However, don’t think you’ll get away that easy, apparently the social notworking site is also in talks with non-MySap countries too.
