Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition Arrives in the UK
Motorola's Xoom 2 Media edition has arrived in the UK a month after it was announced for the UK and two weeks after the Xoom 2.
The Xoom 2 Media Edition is, for the most part, the same as the regular Xoom 2 when it comes to hardware, however, there are a few notable differences. For one, the Media Edition is a little bit smaller, boasting an 8.2-inch display, as opposed to the Xoom 2's 10.1-inch panel. This also has an impact on the weight of the device, with the smaller screen making the ME a little bit lighter. The Xoom 2 Media Edition tips the scales at 386g while the beefier Xoom 2 weighs in at 586g. Price is the third difference, with the Media Edition ringing in at £329.99, £50 less than it's bigger brother.
Other than screen size, weight and price, the Media Edition is pretty much exactly the same as the Xoom 2. Both tablets pack 1.2GHz dual-core CPUs, 1GB of RAM, Android 3.2 (aka Honeycomb), a 5-megapixel camera in the back (with autofocus, digital zoom and LED flash), and a 1.3-megapixel affair in the front. Motorola is marketing the Xoom 2 ME as a media-lovers tablet, and this is the company's first tablet under 10 inches in size.
The device is now available from retailers in the UK, including Amazon and Clove.
