Motorola Tough Defy+ Smartphone Gets a UK Release Date
Motorola's follow-up to the Defy, the imaginatively named Defy+, will arrive in the United Kingdom next month.
One of the worst things about smartphones is that they're delicate -- at least, more delicate than the sturdy dumbphones that were popular prior to this craze. On top of this, they're expensive, so if you do happen to get it wet or scratch to bits, you just have to cross your fingers and hope it still works or else pony up for a new one. However, it is possible to make a phone that can withstand some of the dangers the environment presents. Motorola's Defy+ is a perfect example. Scratch-resistant, water-resistant and dust-proof, this phone will probably react just as badly to being dropped as any other smartphone, but it's less likely to be rendered unusable by everyday wear and tear.
Though no UK carriers have announced that they'll be carrying this device, Crave reports that it will be landing in the United Kingdom in September. Specswise, you're looking at a 3.7-inch Corning Gorilla Glass touchscreen display, a 1GHz CPU, a 5-megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of internal storage (with an additional 2GB via a bundled SD card) and Android 2.3, aka Gingerbread.
