Motorola dresses up Razr2 phone with gold plated accents
Schaumburg (IL) – Motorola will soon be offering a “luxury phone” – a dressed up Razr2 V8 that comes with “decadent details” and, to make sure that this possibly rather expensive phone is noticed by others, gold plated surface parts.
The “V8 Luxury Edition” will be available this quarter in selected regions and will target individuals who are looking for “a stunning blend of cutting-edge technology and bold, sophisticated details that is the pinnacle of ultra-premium cool.”
The phone isn’t quite what one would call understated, but flashes a strong contrast between black and gold surfaces. Motorola has paired the black slate finish with 18k and 24k gold plated “accents” with pin stripes on the CLI lens, a diamond cut patterns on the sideband and a linear etching on the navigation wheel. According to the manufacturer, the back has been covered with a soft-touch material that has a “snakeskin effect”.
The technical details of the GSM Razr2 remain unchanged and include quad-band capability, a 240x320 pixel display, 2 GB of memory and a 2 megapixel camera. The phone also comes standard with a matching Bluetooth headset that also comes with 18k gold plated surfaces as well as a leather carrying case.
The price of the phone has not been announced.
